Reading the bible is something that I always wanted to do, but trying it on my own was a little intimidating, confusing, and tedious. Then, like a mountaineer attempting Everest with the help of a Sherpa, I found a trusted guide in the Disciple program. It has made the bible accessible to me, and has provided the support to make my efforts successful.

First United Methodist of Arlington Heights has a truly unique Sunday school program called Festival. I feel good that my children are having FUN and receiving a christian education. Each week there is a entirely new method for my child to learn a specific biblical lesson over a given 5-week period; One week on the computer, another week a movie, the next week they build a craft. They even make a snack that relates to the lesson. By entering a different learning environment and doing different activities each week, my children stay focused and retain the biblical message much easier! Most important they WANT to go to Sunday school! I highly recommend it!

There is always something for someone to get involved in at our church. We love the Kaleidoscope sessions in between services at 10 a.m. Every time we go we're inspired by the new guest speaker each week!
