A safe home for young immigrant men (18 and over) seeking asylum in the US. Established in 2017, Viator House of Hospitality (VHH) provides a humane and fiscally responsible alternative to immigration detention. It provides a supportive living environment where young men can attend school, improve language skills, grow spiritually and emotionally, receive medical attention and work while awaiting immigration proceedings.
Since 2017, VHH has provided a home for ore than 90 men from 22 countries.
VHH receives no government funding. 95% of the budget is funded by private grants, faith communities and individual donors.
Each young man has permission from the government to be here while his asylum case is being decided.
VHH has more than 70 volunteers who provide 300+ hours of service each month. These volunteers work directly with our participants to tutor them, mentor them, and to drive them to school and jobs. They also spend time at VHH when no staff member can be present.
